Fire crews arrived to find active fire burning on the roof of the large industrial building and extending into several large air ducts within the facility. Fire suppression efforts were complicated by the size of the structure, the challenges associated with safely accessing the fire area, and the need to extend hose lines long distances to reach the seat of the fire.

Red Mill Lumber, a Casco, Maine-based sawmill and building supply company, has closed and the mill's entire operation will be auctioned off on July 30.

Empire State Development has announced the official transfer of the former Butler Correctional Facility to the Wayne County Industrial Development Agency. The agency in turn transferred the property to Westbury Lumber, which successfully was awarded the land through a competitive RFP process.
