Winners of the 2025 Top Shelf Design Awards, sponsored by Rev-A-Shelf, were announced on July 1 at a reception during the Closets Conference & Expo in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Taking top honors was Domenic Marcolongo of LV Closet Design, who won Best of Show for his "Laminate Closet: Over 18 linear feet " project, titled "After Dark."
The dark and glossy feel of this closet makes it hard to ignore, Marcolongo noted. One of the key features is color-changing ambient lighting casting “a seductive glow, while glass-front cabinetry turns every garment into a curated display.”
Additional features include a marble-and-leather-clad island with warm underlighting that softens the look, creating a layered, moody atmosphere that feels both intimate and elevated.
“Every detail is intentional. Every finish, reflective. This is where function meets fantasy—designed not just to store, but to seduce,” Marcolongo added.
He will receive a $500 prize for Best of Show, and each category winner listed below will receive a $50 prize, including an award plaque and publication in Closets & Organized Storage magazine.
The Top Shelf Design Awards are presented annually to recognize designers for their innovative and creative closet and home organizational designs. Each entry is judged based on the following criteria: 50 percent appearance/design (emphasizing design creativity) and 50 percent functionality and quality of construction/materials.
Special thanks go to the panel of judges: Lauren Schwartz of Meridian Closets, Claudia Duffield, Casa Bossanova; Natasha Shtapauk of The BauTeam, and Eric Marshall from the Closet Training Institute.
