Skanska breaks ground on 300,000 sq. ft. mass timber high school

Skanska, a global construction and development firm, broke ground on the modernization of Cleveland High School for Portland Public Schools on June 12. The project will replace the existing school with an approximately 300,000-square-foot high school on the same Southeast Portland site, along with upgrades to the athletics stadium and Powell Park fields. Construction is expected to begin in July 2026 and be completed in the summer of 2029.

Häcker Kitchens launches Limited Edition 1926, celebrating Frankfurt Kitchen centennial

The collection pays tribute to Austrian architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, creator of the Frankfurt Kitchen, which is widely regarded as the prototype of the modern fitted kitchen. The Limited Edition 1926 incorporates historically inspired design elements, including a curated palette of seven NCS colors in a durable matte lacquer finish, an integrated pull-out table and a built-in folding step, all offered at no additional cost.

Judging panel announced for 30th annual Pinnacle Awards

The International Society of Furniture Designers (ISFD) has assembled a distinguished panel of home furnishings and textile experts to evaluate professional and student entries for its 30th annual Pinnacle Awards, widely recognized as the industry’s highest design honor. Following an extensive review process, the judges will select this year’s finalists and, ultimately, the winning designs.
