Goebel Furniture continues its 4-year insurance court battle

In March of 2021, a hail storm severely damaged the roof on the 15,000-square-foot building that houses Goebel & Co. Furniture. The company is still fighting the effects of that storm, and the insurance company on which it was relying.As revealed in a St. Louis Magazine Facebook post, in 2025, more than four years later, the St. Louis-based furniture manufacturer is still battling water leaks from the still-damaged roof and fighting in federal court the insurance company that the company says has not fulfilled its obligations.

ABC: Monthly Construction Economic Survey shows tariff impacts on rising prices and job slowdowns

WASHINGTON — Associated Builders and Contractors reported April 15 that its Construction Backlog Indicator rose to 8.5 months in March, according to an ABC member survey conducted March 20 to April 6. The reading is up 0.3 months since March 2024. Backlog increased on a monthly basis for all nonresidential subsegments in March. Over the past year, however, only the infrastructure category has experienced a meaningful increase in backlog.
