Woman arrested in connection to lumber mill fire

Firefighters contained the fire to the building of origin. A person of interest has been identified and Cal Fire Prevention Officers are investigating the scene. A woman, who was identified as 34-year-old Haley May Kiick according to local reports, was arrested in connection with the fire on suspicion of arson.

University opens occupational heat safety lab with industry support

The Korey Stringer Institute (KSI) at the University of Connecticut (UConn) has unveiled a new state-of-the-art facility to support their growing work on occupational heat safety.The National Laboratory for Occupational Heat Safety at UConn’s Korey Stringer Institute Powered by Magid & MISSION officially opened on Nov. 12 with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the 750-square-foot site in Gampel Pavilion.
