SCM donates $20,000 to Got Your 6 veterans group

LAS VEGAS - SCM is donating $20,000 to Got Your 6, a social movement that empowers and supports veterans and their families. The company announced the donation in a special ceremony at its booth during the AWFS Fair. The biennial woodworking fair was held July 19-22 in Las Vegas.

Biesse donates $12,000 to Make-A-Wish

LAS VEGAS - Biesse America presented a check for $12,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation during a special VIP/Make-A-Wish reception held during the recent AWFS Fair. The biennial woodworking show took place July 19-22 in Las Vegas.   Biesse hosted more than 700 people at the July 20 event, which the company said was an increase of more than 200 attendees than at its reception at IWF 2016 in Atlanta.

Lumber Baron movie begins production

EAU CLAIRE, WIS. - Filming has begun on a new movie detailing the lumber industry in western Wisconsin. "The Lumber Baron," a fictional account of a family lumber business set in 1910 Chippewa Valley, is currently being filmed in various locations around Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

AHFA adds session on formaldehyde regulation Oct. 25

The American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA) has revised its 2017 regulatory summit agenda to address a growing volume of questions concerning the new formaldehyde emission standard for composite wood products, as well as increasing concern over recent and coming changes in California’s Proposition 65 labeling requirements.
