interzum goes virtual for 2021
COLOGNE, Germany - The world's largest trade show for woodworking supplies, interzum will be held as a virtual event in 2021. The biennial show will still take place May 4-7.

December cabinet sales rise 11.6%, year up 2%
RESTON, Va. - Cabinet sales rose 11.6% in December 2020 compared to the previous year's figures, ending the year on a high note with six straight months of year-over-year growth for the industry. According to participating members in the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's monthly Trend of Business Survey, custom sales were up 19.3%, semi-custom increased 12.5% and stock sales increased 9.6% in December compared to the same period in 2019.

Osborne Wood Products wins global marketing award
TOCCOA, Ga. - Osborne Wood Products Inc. has been named a 2020 Globe Award winner by the Georgia Department of Economic Development for its international marketing efforts. The state-led awards program highlights Georgia companies that entered new international markets in the previous year.
The Toccoa, Georgia-based Osborne Wood Products is among 31 companies throughout the state recognized by the GDEcD. Osborne is a manufacturer and supplier of component parts for the furniture, kitchen and bath industries.

New residential furniture orders slow, still up 17% for November
HIGH POINT, N.C. - Residential furniture manufacturers saw new orders rise a respectable 17% in November compared to 2019, following large increases of 30% in June, 39% in July, 51% in August, 43% in September and 40% in October, according to January's Furniture Insights by Smith Leonard. The increase in new orders was reported by about three-quarters of the manufacturers and distributors participating in the monthly survey.

DOC determines China dumped wood mouldings & millwork
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Commerce announced affirmative final determinations in the antidumping duty (AD) investigation of wood mouldings and millwork products from China, as well as the countervailing duty (CVD) investigation of wood mouldings and millwork products from China. Commerce also announced a negative final determination in the AD investigation of wood mouldings and millwork products from Brazil.
