Cabinet sales continue to fall: KCMA May Trend of Business
RESTON, Va. – Cabinet manufacturers reported overall sales were down 7.6% for May 2025 compared to the same month in 2024, with all three segments reporting year-over-year losses, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's May Trend of Business report.

Powell Valley Millwork plans $29.6 million operations investment
Powell Valley Millwork, a CMPC company, announced plans to invest $29.6 million across its two facilities in Kentucky. The Clay City and Jeffersonville operations will see building and equipment improvements and expansions, which will double the moulding and millwork producer's overall production capacity while creating 33 new jobs.

Homag wins preliminary injunction against IMAI for patent infringement
Homag GmbH won a preliminary injunction against a Chinese manufacturer IMAI for "serious patent infringement" of its edgebander technology. The Pro Edge NC680-LP-AR edgebander, exhibited by IMAI subsidiary Guangdong Super Machinery Technology at LIGNA, contained two joining devices, the combination of which infringes on Homag's European patent.

Residential furniture orders down for April, year-to-date
New residential furniture orders dropped 9% in April compared to the same period in 2024, according to the June issue of Furniture Insights. New residential furniture orders are also down 4% for the year-to-date, compared to last year.
