Wisconsin Log Homes Goes Thermal
WisconsinLogHome_thumb.jpg

It's been more than 30 years since Dave and Kathy Janczak pioneered the Thermal-Log Building System, but the technology is still heating up homeowners desirous of custom log and timber homes.

Offered by Green Bay, WI-based Wisconsin Log Homes, this trademarked system of a non-settling half-log home with full log cross corners incorporates an insulated core wall, capped with an energy-efficient roofing system. The company sells its products both nationally and internationally.

According to the company, it takes an average of one to two years to construct a custom log home. Wisconsin Log Homes’ designers produce 3-D drawings that incorporate actual images of the site into the rendering. The company has its own sawmill to cut the logs and peel them and uses a Pendu machine to put 6-inch and 12-inch profiles on the logs.

In addition to the wood siding, Wisconsin Log Homes will also supply the windows and doors needed to complete the custom designed home.
