Loggers request congressional aid to offset Covid-19 losses

HENDERSON, N.C. -- The Carolina Loggers Association and a coalition of 19 additional associations (California, Idaho, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, Northeastern Loggers Association, North Carolina, Oregon, Florida, Georgia, Texas, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin) join the American Loggers Council (ALC) in requesting $2.5 billion from Congress to support America’s loggers directly.

Rind Routing uses Thermwood CNC routers to assist with Covid-19 crisis

Thermwood machine owner Rind Routing in South Africa was initially devastated to be forced to close down their business due to Covid-19. According to owner Rayno von Schlicht, “Although the initial feeling was that this wouldn’t last very long, as a business owner, I was terribly concerned of the knock-on effect that a three-week downtime would have on my business.”

COVID-19 crushes manufacturing sales in Canada

OTTAWA, Ontario -- Canada's manufacturing sales declined by 9.2 percent in March as industrial plants began to feel the impact of the coronavirus outbreak. According to the Conference Board of Canada (CBC), manufacturing sales are expected to continue sliding through at least June before rebounding in the third quarter.
