Lumber Liquidators Settles Lacey Act Violations for $10 Million

Lumber Liquidators will pay $10 million and plead guilty to Lacey Act violations as part of its settlement agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice. The settlement with the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the Department of Justice (DOJ) stems from a 2013 inquiry that Lumber Liquidators (NYSE: LL) illegally imported lumber from Russia for the manufacture of its hardwood flooring.

The national retailer, founded by Lumber Liquidator's Tom Sullivan, has over 48 company owned stores in 27 states selling hardwood kitchen cabinets.

Lumber Liquidators updated its Floor Finder app for smart phones and tablets. It lets users browse through more than 400 flooring varieties. The Color Match tool, previously only available on the mobile website, allows users to upload a photo of any item such and then see Lumber Liquidators products with a similar range of colors.
