MARTINSVILLE, VA - Residential furniture producer Hooker Furniture has promoted Scott Prillaman to an expanded role of vice president of case goods operations.Prillaman has overseen the Hooker Furniture’s (NASDAQ: HOFT) U.S. case goods operations for the past two years. He has been with the company in various roles for 25 years.

Lenoir Warehouse Group, which operates a furniture packing and shipping operation for Heritage Furniture, bid $50,000 for the Lenoir, NC, building previously owned by a subsidiary of Furniture Brands International.

Vanguard Furniture will invest $550,000 to open its first residential furniture operation in Virginia. The high-end upholstery and casegoods furniture manufacturer will use an existing facility in Carroll County for its production, creating more than 200 jobs.

La-Z-Boy Incorporated (NYSE: LZB) today consolidated sales for the full fiscal 2014 year increased 6.6%, or $83.4 million. Sales for the full fiscal year 2014 were $1.36 billion.
