Masonite International faces class-action lawsuit

Masonite is facing a securities class action lawsuit for allegedly failing to disclose, between June 2023 and February 2024, that it received acquisition offers from Owens Corning. While hiding these premium offers, the company repurchased nearly 270,000 shares for roughly $25 million at artificially lower prices, misleading investors, and allegedly earning millions on stock prices that later went up when it was revealed that Owens Corning was making a large offer on the company.

Candlelight Cabinetry reportedly set to resume operations on Feb. 23

LOCKPORT, N.Y. — A local news station says that it has obtained an email purportedly from the owner of Candlelight Cabinetry, Andrew Olsen, that states that he has made progress working with new and existing partners to “sustain Candlelight well into the future.”Woodworking Network has reached out to Olsen via text message to enquire about the email and the progress he says he has made in obtaining financing from partners in an effort to catch up on all operations. Olsen has not responded to the Woodworking Network's message.

Law firm investigating potential WARN violation after furniture maker closes doors

Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a class action law firm, is investigating Kroehler Furniture Co. regarding its recent mass layoff in Conover, North Carolina. On December 30, 2025, Kroehler notified the North Carolina Department of Commerce of its decision to conduct a mass layoff at its facility in Conover. More than 200 workers were laid off two days later, on Dec. 31, 2025.
