Tied as it is to the cabinet, furniture, closets, and other segments, the components industry is facing the same challenges, including adjusting to rising and ever-changing supply costs and general economic uncertainty. But there are growth opportunities.

When it comes to cabinetry components, the NKBA/KBIS 2026 Kitchen Design Trends study notes wood grains and painted surfaces, floor to ceiling cabinets, and slab doors will increase in demand over the next three years. A preference for deeper lower cabinets with more drawer storage will also be seen. Two-tone cabinet colors will retain their popularity, with neutrals, greens and blues among the dominant kitchen colors.

Regarding hardware, the 2025 U.S. Houzz Kitchen Trends Study finds 93% homeowners opt for handles on new cabinets. Among the choices, bar pulls dominate at 75%, followed by knobs at 36%. Cup pulls and finger pulls each account for 9%. Soft-close hardware will also continue to be popular.

Growth is also projected for industrial components, including pallets and new crossties (see Quick Stats below). Maximize Market Research also forecasts the global wood pellet market, $13.57 billion USD in 2023, to reach $36.09 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 15%.
