AWFS Design-It-Digital Student CAD Competition opens registration

LAS VEGAS — Registration is now open for the 2026 AWFS Design-It-Digital Student CAD Competition. This opportunity gives students the opportunity to apply their classroom skills to a real-world design challenge.

Design-it-Digital challenges students to think like professional furniture designers by solving a real-world client design problem using CAD and rendering software. Along the way, students develop skills in design, engineering, manufacturability, estimating, and presentation while creating a portfolio-worthy project.

Free to enter, the 2026 theme is tables with separate design challenges for middle school, high school, and post-secondary students.

Participation offers students the opportunity to:

  • Apply classroom learning to an authentic industry challenge.
  • Build a professional portfolio piece.
  • Compete for cash awards.
  • Receive recognition from woodworking industry professionals.
  • Have winning entries displayed at the AWFS Fair 2027 in Las Vegas.
