Bandsaw blade with new tooth design

The L.S. Starrett Co. has introduced The XPW (Extreme Performance for Wood) technology to its Woodpecker Premium and Woodpecker PRO Band Saw Blade lines. The blades, available in 1.3 and 1.1 tooth pitches in blades 1 inch and larger, feature a deeper gullet than previous Woodpecker blades, which the company says enables higher fatigue resistance and improved performance. The blades feature a hardened spring-tempered carbon steel back and positive angle precision set teeth.

Carbide-tipped band saw blades for hardwoods

The Woodpecker CT carbide-tipped band saw blades from The L.S. Starrett Co. feature aggressively angled carbide-tipped teeth that are precision-ground and triple-sharpened for superior cutting performance and high fatigue resistance for extended blade life, reduced cutting time and improved productivity, the company says. Blades are available in welded bands, in 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4 and 2 inch widths, in 0.032, 0.035 and 0.042 inch thicknesses, and in 1.3 and 3 teeth per inch.

Bandsaw blade grinder

Available from Ogden, the NBS 301 bandsaw blade grinder uses CNC technology to precisely grind stellite, bimetal or carbide-tipped blades up to 12 inches, using a diamond or ceramic grinding wheel and a water-cooling system. An integrated attachment dresses the grinding wheel while the machine is running, and automatically adjusts for wheel diameter wear.

CNC circular blade grinder

Ogden says the NBS 800 CNC grinder is ideal for sharpening stellite, bimetal and carbide-tipped circular saw blades up to 800mm in diameter. It uses a diamond or ceramic grinding wheel and a water-cooling system. A driven diamond dressing wheel automatically cycles to keep the shape of the grinding stone clean and consistent.

Easy change planer and jointer knives

Charles G. G. Schmidt & Co. Inc. offers Esta-USA and Dispozablade insert style planer and jointer knives. The planer blade and jointer knife can be changed instantly, accurately and economically, the company says. The knives are designed to work in the original factory-installed cutter head of almost all planers, jointers and molders. Changing the tooling is accomplished with “Drop and Lock” knife installations in machines.

Ultra-long flush trim bits

Ultra-long Ultimate Flush Trim Bits line from Whiteside Machine comes in six new compression tools with cutting lengths of 1-3/8”, 1-5/8”, and 2-1/8” and they join the Classic Ultimate Flush Trim Bits to create a family of nine tools with cutting lengths from 1-1/8” – 2-1/8”. Bits are produced from a solid block of micro-grain carbide induction brazed onto a ½” steel shank. The broader sweep achieved with the 7/8” cutter head allows for greater shearing action along the cutting edge, which the company says reduces tear-out.

Decorative grooving insert bit

GDP Tooling’s multi-use decorative bit offers versatility in grooving, lettering, round-over, and engraving operations, the company says. The tooling is especially usable for inside edge beveling on MDF shaker doors. Custom profile inserts are available in solid carbide with a standard bevel design in diamond (PCD). The bit can be mounted in an HSK Heat Shrink tool holder for greater precision and tool longevity.
