The ultra-long Ultimate Flush Trim Bits line from Whiteside Machine now come in six new compression tools with cutting lengths of 1-3/8”, 1-5/8”, and 2-1/8” and they join the Classic Ultimate Flush Trim Bits to create a family of nine tools with cutting lengths from 1-1/8” – 2-1/8”.

These massive bits are produced from a solid block of micro-grain carbide which is induction brazed onto a ½” diameter steel shank. They are then placed through a grinding process with fine-grit diamond wheels for a razor-sharp edge. The company says the design is more durable and shock resistant than traditional solid carbide tools.  

The broader sweep achieved with the 7/8” diameter cutter head allows for greater shearing action along the cutting edge, which the company says reduces tear out and provides superior results in difficult wood grains. The extra-long cut lengths make trimming projects with thick stock such as tabletops, benches and entry doors easier and more efficient as the operation can be achieved without flipping the material, according to the company.
