Baer Supply to Showcase Orange County 'hopper' at IWF

VERNON HILLS, IL -- Baer Supply Co., a specialty wholesale distributor to the woodworking industry, will feature a custom-built Orange County Chopper in its booth at the International Woodworking Machinery & Supply Fair, Aug. 23-26 in Atlanta. Universal Forest Products Posts Strong Second Quarter

GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Universal Forest Products, a manufacturer and distributor of wood and wood-alternative products, announced July 17 a strong second quarter marked by net earnings of $27.3 million, an increase of 19.9% over the same period last year. Year-to-date net earnings were $43.2 million, a 34.9% increase over the first six months of 2005.

Shermag Sees Losses in Second Quarter

Sherbrooke, QUE – Shermag Inc., a manufacturer of residential furniture, reported gross revenue of $39.9 million for the second quarter compared to $44.8 million for the same period last year. Net revenue was $37.3 million versus $42.2 million in 2005. Six month gross revenue was $80.2 million, a $9.4 million decrease from the same period last year.
