GREENSBORO, NC – Columbia Forest Products announces the launch of a brand new stock stain program available exclusively from its Trumann, AR mill. StainSelect is a selection of 10 popular stain colors offered along with a highly attractive 24-sheet minimum order quantity.

This new program allows fabricators of custom closets, fixtures and kitchen cabinets to offer a “real wood” option of on-trend colors without the larger minimum quantities required of the company’s CustomColors program.

“With 10 proven color selections available in popular species of Red Oak, Maple and Cherry, we’re matching the trends that are in demand today,” Tom Pearsall, manager of Marketing and New Product Development, explained. “We offer a wide range from opaque whites to transparent darks and everything in between.”

StainSelect is ideal for smaller closet, fixture and kitchen cabinet jobs in which a factory finish may be preferred but previous stain minimum order quantities couldn’t be met. With small order quantities available, StainSelect can be specified for jobs in which the durability and efficiency of a factory finish are desired.

StainSelect colors are offered on nearly all of Columbia’s hardwood plywood panels such as veneer core, MDF and particleboard core. For panels thinner than ¼”, MDF is recommended. A satin gloss level is standard (reflection of 30-40%).

Fabricators and smaller manufacturers will appreciate that only a 24-panel minimum order is required to run a selected stain color. The order can be 24 panels stained one-side-only, both sides, or stained on one side with Columbia’s durable clear coating on the other.

“One big advantage of StainSelect is that real hardwood can now be substituted in areas where ‘plastic’ laminates more typically have been used before,” Pearsall noted. “Customers immediately appreciate the aesthetics that only ‘real wood’ can provide. It’s a highly attractive, cost-effective upgrade.”

When combined with Columbia’s EPA award-winning PureBond formaldehyde-free hardwood plywood technology, StainSelect’s VOC-free, pre-finished treatments will enhance and improve projects that aspire to higher standards of appearance, performance and indoor air quality.

Since 1996, Columbia Forest Products has delivered more than 20 million prefinished panels to the industry.

Fabrication customers appreciate the time and cost savings in their facilities, along with the added benefit of no VOC emissions. “Many shops tell us that our prefinished panels save them days in production while also ensuring a beautiful, consistent finish. Now they can get a custom stain look at a stock stain price,” Pearsall observed.

StainSelect is available exclusively from Columbia Forest Products’ FinishLine production facility in Trumann, Ark. This mill can service most of the eastern and central regions of the United States and Canada. Columbia sales representatives can provide detailed information on current geographic coverage.
