The overall outlook remains bullish for the WOOD 100, despite continued economic concerns and a rash of closures and acquisitions by some of the industry’s giants. Of those that responded, 75% said they expect 2023 sales to exceed those of last year, and 85% are optimistic both 2023 and 2024 sales overall will be “good” or “excellent.” (Click on the charts for a larger view.)

When asked about their top concerns, not surprisingly the economy and employee recruitment/retention were the top two, followed by a tie between profit margins and employee skills. Supply chain challenges, a top three concern last year, dropped to the sixth spot.

Submissions for the 2024 WOOD 100, companies will begin in summer. In order to qualify, wood products manufacturers must have generated sales of at least $250,000 for the past 3 years. For information contact Karen Koenig.
