Komo Machine, Inc says its way of marking its 50th year in business - unveiling Independent Programmable Technology for its CNC machines - "turned heads" at the IWF 2016 show last month.

In addition to an efficient finishing process, IWF TV sponsor Sherwin-Williams says it offers conversion varnishes, lacquers, UV coatings, and a unique universal primer called Sherwood. Joe Kujawski of Sherwin-Williams says Sherwood is great for pigmented finishes, dries quickly, and can have any coating placed over it.

Benz Inc. Paul Roza offered IWF 2016 attendees a history of aggregate tooling and how it can expand CNC router capabilities.

Loading and unloading injuries are among major legal liability issues woodworking companies face. Mike Lent of the Pennsylvania and Indiana Lumbermens Insurance Company describes these concerns at IWF 2016.

At IWF 2016, Uniboard showcased various textured panels that it says look and feel very similar to real wood.

"Industry 4.0 is probably the most important opportunity for the world to improve efficiency and automation," said Biesse President and CEO Federico Broccoli at IWF 2016.  Broccoli, who refers to Industry 4.0 as the smart factory, says Biesse has been working to help small to medium sized woodworking operations achieve automation. He also said Biesse is working to make all components compatible with the Internet of Things, in which machines would provide feedback on how to improve efficiency to management.

"Customers want that class-A finish, they want to cut steps if they can, and they want to have zero waste in their factories," said Joe Kujawski of Sherwin-Williams.
