Eight months after being acquired by an equity firm, Besse Forest Products Group, a long-time distributor of Northern hardwood veneer, lumber, and specialty plywood manufacturing, has officially closed six of its green lumber sawmills and veneer mills in Wisconsin and Michigan and the assets from these facilities are now up for sale.

Alumni Educational Solutions, a manufacturer of educational furniture for pre-school, K-12, and higher education classrooms across North America has been acquired by an equity consortium led by investment firm Castle Harlan. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

THOMPSONTOWN, Pa. — Cabinetworks Group confirmed that it is closing its Thompsontown, Pennsylvania, assembly plant, laying off hundreds of employees, as a result of declining multi-family direct sales business.
