Hinge that looks a odd

Hi there , it’s been almost a year since my dads passing so I’m attempting to finish one of his project he didn't get to finish. It’s an understairs storage type on situation with doors. He attached the doors with hingers but they look a bit well not nice . I was wondering if there would be any way to improve or hide it ? The edges of the doors itself do need a lot of working on it , but I really just wanted to sort the hinges out first . Am I being too fussy, does is it okay?
