JASPER, Ind. - Reports out of Indiana is that MasterBrand Cabinets plans to end night shift operations at its Jasper location.

Company officials said the goal is to streamline production and be more competitive in attracting employees since jobs at that facility will all be day shift. Presumably, that is the preferred shift. The 70 employees impacted are being offered jobs on the day shift or at its Ferdinand, Ind., location.

A date for when this action will take place has not been announced.

MasterBrand is ranked third on the FDMC 300 with an estimated $2.8 billion in sales.

In April, MasterBrand Cabinets' parent company, Fortune Brands, announced that it plans to split the company into two publicly traded businesses. The cabinet side of Fortune Brands will be formed into its own company called the Cabinets Business, and a second company will be rebranded to New Fortune Brands.

The cabinet company operates several highly recognizable names including Aristokraft Cabinetry, KitchenCraft, Schrock, Omega Cabinetry, Decora, Diamond, Mantra, and Kemper.
