The Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA), which represents the $1 trillion equipment finance sector, revealed its Top 10 Equipment Acquisition Trends for 2024 including a growth in spending, especially automation and robotics, and a lowering of interest rates.

Miter Brands has bested a Masonite offer to acquire PGT Innovations Inc. in a deal valued at approximately $3.1 billion. In accordance with the terms of the original merger agreement with Masonite, a termination fee of $84 million from PGT was paid to Masonite.

Announced last September, the merger of the furniture hardware manufacturers allows the combined company to accentuate its strengths while further developing existing customer relationships.

MiEN Co., an education- furniture manufacturer has acquired the former American Seating Co. factory in Grand Rapids. According to Crain’s Grand Rapids Business, an affiliate of MiEN Co. closed Monday, Jan. 15, on the purchase of the three parcels of land on approximately 17 acres of property from American Seating for an undisclosed amount.
