Home Furnishings HOF ceremony moves to October

HIGH POINT, N.C. — The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation Inc. has moved the Induction Celebration to Oct. 17. Originally scheduled for 2020, the event will take place at the Sheraton Greensboro Four Seasons in High Point, North Carolina.

Residential furniture orders see 27% rise in December, up 15% for 2020

New orders for residential furniture continued to rise in December, up 27% compared to 2019. This continues the streak of year-over-year double-digit increases since June 2020, as reported by Smith Leonard in the latest issue of Furniture Insights. The increase in new orders was reported by about 84% of the residential furniture manufacturers and distributors participating in the monthly survey.

Hooker Furnishings promotes senior execs

MARTINSVILLE, Va.– Hooker Furnishings has promoted Johne Albanese to chief marketing officer and Tod Phelps to senior vice president-Operations, both new positions within the company. The two will report to Jeremy Hoff, CEO of the large residential furniture manufacturer. As chief marketing officer, Albanese will be responsible for all marketing initiatives across the company’s 12 brands. He has been with the company for 8 years, previously serving as vice president of Marketing.
