Rooms Moscow / MIFS 2014: The Countdown Has Started

• German Pavilion with high-profile participants

• Event’s international character has risen by over 50 %

• Challenging events programme and specialist seminars

We’re almost there! On 20 May 2014, the starting gun will sound for the latest Rooms Moscow / MIFS exhibition and trade fair! Rooms Moscow / MIFS is the annual business platform for companies from all over the world looking to access the furniture markets in Russia and Eastern Europe – the furniture markets of the future – in the first half of the year. Koelnmesse and Media Globe Crocus have developed the dual trade fair.

“We are expecting a significantly more international Rooms Moscow / MIFS event this year. In fact, we can attest to an increase of over 50% in terms of the event’s international nature in comparison with the first event in 2013. Currently, participants from 14 countries have registered – not including Russia and the CIS states“, says Gerald Böse, President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse. In addition to the exhibitors in the German Pavilion, KARE Design (Germany), Dan-Form (Denmark), Spühl (Switzerland), Kilim International and Gaysan (Turkey), Sealy Middle East Mattress and Reliance Bedding (UAE) as well as Tompol und Zawisza (Poland) among others will be at the event. Many German companies have taken advantage of the opportunity to gain access to the Russian furniture market by participating in the German pavilion, which has 23 participants so far. In total, more than 300 exhibitors will present the latest trends for Russia and Eastern Europe. Over 20,000 visitors are expected once more.

Rooms Moscow / MIFS is important for the industry in three ways. The first is as a decisive platform for entry into the market by foreign companies. The second is as a forum to maintain existing contacts with traders, architects and interior designers from Russia and the CIS states and last but not least, as an exhibition of Russian furniture brands’ products and potential, also serving to highlight the number of possible working relationships between national and international companies. It is the combination of an international product range and Russian manufacturers which makes Rooms Moscow / MIFS attractive for visitors from all over Russia and the neighbouring CIS states. Moscow, and the state of the art Crocus Expo exhibition grounds in particular, is the perfect location to present new and innovative products to a dynamic and growing market in time for spring. “The unique combination of the event‘s spring date – which is important in this market – and the highly modern exhibition grounds is certain to generate many new business contacts and valuable opportunities to develop long-term commercial relationships between Europe and Russia,“ says the fair’s CEO. As well as the national pavilion from Germany, the presentation of the Interior Innovations Awards winners – an initiative of imm cologne, ORGATEC and interzum, the leading trade fairs in their respective industries – is guaranteed to be a crowd puller!

For 90 years, Koelnmesse has been bringing people and markets together. The success story of Cologne trade fairs began in 1924 with the opening of the first event on the exhibition grounds in Cologne-Deutz. During the "economic miracle" of the post-World War II era, the "Rheinische Messe" became a global trading center. Today Koelnmesse has the world's fifth-largest exhibition complex and organizes approximately 75 trade fairs in Cologne and all over the world. During its anniversary year of 2014, Koelnmesse is bringing its history to the public’s attention through numerous activities, publications, and exhibitions.
