Developing next generation leaders topic of free WMS Live presentation

MISSISSAUGA, Ontario – How to develop employees’ leadership qualities in a wood manufacturing organization is the topic of a free presentation scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at Woodworking Machinery & Supply Conference & Expo (WMS).

Barry Reid of LMI Canada will take to the WMS Live Stage to share ideas employers can seize to nurture their associates’ ability to lead others to success. Reid will focus on the critical behaviors and skills required to grow future leaders in either the shop floor or the office.

Reid is passionate about guiding individuals and organizations to reach their full potential. He is currently serving the leadership development needs of entrepreneurs and leaders from dozens of organizations in diverse sectors including construction, manufacturing, financial services, retail, and other public and private sectors.

Reid honed his business and leadership skills over 15 years of leading large sales and production teams in four daily newspapers across southern Ontario and launched several publications. Over the years, he has earned a strong reputation in strategic planning, restructuring, process review, innovation, effective collective bargaining, coaching, training and developing managers as well as goal setting and building effective teams. 

The leadership presentation is one of a half dozen educational sessions being produced by the Wood Manufacturing Cluster of Ontario. The WMS Live Stage brings free timely business and manufacturing topics right to the show floor throughout WMS, Feb. 24-26, 2022, at the International Centre.
