Columbia Forest Products Intros Plywood with Cherry Wood Veneer

Greensboro, NC – PureBond® Project Panels are the ultimate in convenience for use in DIY shelving, cabinetry and furniture projects. Now, Columbia Forest Products has teamed up with The Home Depot to offer these top-quality, American hardwood plywood products through an exclusive online program. PureBond panels are now offered in a choice of 12 different unfinished, prefinished and primed hardwood veneer species, including lustrous cherry. They are available as “ship to home” or “ship to store” items from The Home Depot’s website. Because of its smooth grain pattern and warm reddish coloration, cherry has long been a favorite wood for creating furniture and other home décor projects. It finishes to a glass-like smoothness, making it a popular choice not only for its functionality, but also for its visual appeal. Making Craftsmanship Easier The introduction of PureBond® Project Panels has proven very popular with consumers, who enjoy the unique benefits of these domestically-produced, formaldehyde-free decorative hardwood plywood panels along with their availability in convenient, easy-to-work-with thicknesses, widths and lengths. In addition to their American hardwood quality and consistency, PureBond Project Panels make it much easier for members of the DIY community to build custom furniture, cabinets and fixtures. Todd Vogelsinger, Director of Marketing for Columbia Forest Products, stressed the importance of offering more choices in panel size. “From working with leading DIY bloggers like Ana White and Shanty-2-Chic, we learned that conventional 4 ft. x 8 ft. panel sizes can be cumbersome and intimidating – even for people who have pickup trucks and workshops.” For that reason, PureBond Project Panels are being offered in a choice of popular smaller sizes: • 2’ x 2’ • 2’ x 4’ • 2’ x 8’ • 4’ x 4’ The panels are also offered in three thicknesses: • ¼” • ½” • ¾” With these options available to consumers, the result is less materials waste because orders can match more closely the finished part dimensions they need. “Our goal is to help make woodworking easy and rewarding. Offering many more veneer-faced options online gives the customer an added measure of choice and convenience. It removes traditional obstacles and paves the way for many more DIY projects to happen,” Vogelsinger noted. Timeless Beauty … Modern-Day Performance There’s no question that the special characteristics of American Hardwoods convey the timeless virtues of “quality.” But PureBond Project Panels are versatile enough to deliver quality in traditional, classic or contemporary looks. These panels also offer strong, durable performance that is very well-suited to building or re-facing cabinets, closets, bookshelves, furniture and other furnishings. Other attractive attributes include: • For bathrooms, laundry rooms and other damp environments, the product’s “all-wood,” water-resistant properties are preferable to particleboard and MDF panel constructions. • PureBond panels are approximately 30% lighter than comparably-sized composite materials. This also makes a welcome difference working with panels when transporting, fabricating and moving the finished furniture or furnishing item around. • They’re also a “healthy” and environmentally responsible advantage: Because of their formaldehyde-free construction, PureBond panels are particularly well-suited for anyone who is concerned about maintaining good indoor air quality (IAQ) for themselves and their families. A Panel for Any Need In addition to their project-friendly sizes and flexible purchase quantities (as little as one panel at a time), PureBond Project Panels are now available at in these real-wood veneers: • Alder • Aromatic Cedar • Cherry • Hickory • Mahogany • Maple (Unfinished and Prefinished options) • Oak (Red and White) • Poplar (Unfinished and Pre-primed options) • Walnut More Information For more information about PureBond Project Panels, available exclusively from The Home Depot, contact Kevin Crisp, Columbia Forest Products’ Home Depot Account Manager, at 1-800-637-16091-800-637-1609 or [email protected] About Columbia Forest Products Established in 1957, Columbia Forest Products is North America’s largest manufacturer of decorative hardwood plywood and hardwood veneer.
