The story of Gator Millworks' resiliency and how they helped rebuild a community

In August 2016, a "1,000-year" rain event dumped up to 36 inches of rain in 48 hours, causing catastrophic flooding in south Louisiana, including the town of Denham Springs. Nearly the entire town suffered severe damage, forcing thousands to evacuate as homes and businesses were submerged. One of those businesses was Gator Millworks. Many of the homes were their employees' and their families.

Davis Furniture acquires former Woodmark site, plans major expansion

HIGH POINT, N.C. — Davis Furniture has acquired the former Woodmark Furniture property in High Point for approximately $1.45 million to expand its campus. The 124,000-square-foot facility, previously occupied by Woodmark Furniture, a subsidiary of Howard Miller Co., which closed in 2025, adjacent to its current location, will be renovated to house manufacturing and warehouse functions.
