Jenna Shock, Inspired Closets Pittsburgh, designed a master closet space with multiple hidden and locked spaces for the client's jewelry collection. The project won honorable mention in the Closet: Laminate Over 18 linear feet category in the 2023 Top Shelf Design Awards. Winners were announced on April 13 at a reception sponsored by CCF Industries during the Closets Conference & Expo, held in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Here's how Shock describes the project:

Project Title: Timeless and Classic Closet Sanctuary

Project Details: The client wanted a safe place to store all of her favorite belongings, all while keeping a timeless and classic aesthetic. There are multiple hidden, locked drawers/doors and a safe for valuable belongings. The island has cutouts with glass inserts for her jewelry collection favorites. The lighted glass cabinets were designed to showcase her handbag collection.

Projection Construction: We installed on the subfloor, and the carpet was installed afterward (except the island). I began working with this client in the blueprint stage. In the back half of the closet, there were sloped ceilings with 16-inch protrusions, and I designed the cabinets to come out past to get a floor-to-ceiling cabinet installed. You will notice this on either side of the back wall sconces.

Materials Used: Thermally fused laminate, natural stone, LED, brass hardware, glass, velvet jewelry trays, and light fixtures.

Equipment Used: Studio design software, various hand tools, and power tools for installation.
