THOROLD, Ontario -- CHAR Technologies Thorold Inc. will receive $4.9 million from the Canadian government to help develop a woody-biomass-to-renewable-energy facility. 

International Wood Products (IWP) signed a distribution agreement at five Western locations with Allura, an industry leader in fiber cement siding products, to distribute IWP’s building materials. The coverage area will include Oregon, Washington, Northern & Central California, Northern Idaho, Western Montana, Hawaii, & Alaska.

KI announced an inaugural classroom furniture giveaway for K-12 teachers. Three winners will each be awarded $40,000-worth of KI furniture of their choosing to receive the classroom makeover.

MILWAUKEE -- Bliffert Lumber & Hardware acquired Fillinger Millwork, a single-location millwork manufacturer of hardwood molding and custom millwork products in Milwaukee. The transaction closed on Nov. 30. Details of the deal were not released.  A month earlier, Bliffert acquired Milwaukee Cabinetry, a deal that closed on Oct. 31.

The comment period ends Jan. 17, 2023.

The plant, a joint venture between Accsys Technologies and Eastman, is progressing and on schedule to begin production in 2024.
