Robust Desktop CNC Can Be Used by Anyone

MakersDream, a startup from Venice, Italy has launched Evo-One, a CNC mill that can be used on a desktop. Fundraising the project on Kickstarter, the developers, who previously launched the InventOne 3D printer, say keeping 3D and CNC separate is a better approach to engineering and operation.

Lumber Liquidators Stock Surges as Investor Critic Reverses His View

Lumber Liquidators finally catches a break, as Whitney Tilson, an investment manager who was a steady critic of its business practices, reverses his position. Tilson says he is now top management did not knowingly sell Chinese made laminate flooring with high levels formaldehyde. The stock rose 17 percent on the news.

PBS TV's American Woodshop Will Now Auction Its Projects

As co-hosts of the PBS TV series The American Woodshop, Scott and Suzy Phillips are changing the show’s focus starting this season. The projects will now be scheduled for auction, and the proceeds will be donated to two Ohio organizations that provide furniture for those who need it and who teach the craft of woodworking.

$16 Billion Consumer Products Megadeal: Newell Rubbermaid Buys Jarden

Home storage, tool and consumer products giant Newell Rubbermaid has entered into an agreement with Jarden Corp. which will combine the two into a $16 billion company to be named Newell Brands.
