WMCO slates free Industry Benchmarks webinar for April 15

Hanover, Ontario – How wood products companies can collect and use industry benchmarks to improve their operations is the topic of a webinar that the Wood Manufacturing Cluster of Ontario will host on Thursday, April 15.

Sepp Gmeiner

The free session, running from Noon to 1:15 p.m. EDT, will feature a presentation by Sepp Gmeiner of Lignum Consulting Inc. He will explore the methods of establishing metrics and collecting the relevant data that impacts a company’s operations. He will then help participants better understand how they using these benchmarks can help them understand how their company compares to the industry at large, including areas in need of improvement.

Among the industry metrics that Gmeiner will cover include:

  • Revenue per employee;
  • Labour hours per kitchen cabinet produced;
  • Capital investment relative to sales volume; and
  • Floor space per employee.

In addition, Gmeiner will report on machinery and software trends.

The WMCO, formerly the Bluewater Wood Alliance, has more than 120 woodworking and supplier members operating in southwest Ontario.

Register to attend the April 15 webinar.
