Dozens of wood industry professionals from every area of the market have been nominated as 40 Under 40 Superstars, forecasting a bright future for this business segment.

The program is intended to highlight the rising generation of professionals entering the business, and beginning to make their mark.

The nominees so far match the profile of folks who think out of the box, and are risk takers. Representative of the nominees is this one:

Cabinetmaking shop: Soon after entering a family-run cabinetry business, a young woman designer learned it was very internally focused, and not following industry best practices. She did a complete makeover of its bidding process, streamlining internal operations. Following that margin boosting effort, she pro-actively grew new business opportunities by networking in the her design professional community. Emboldened by these successes, she rolled out a customer relationship management system that is a major driver of new business.

Wood product manufacturing has a bright future, judging from the caliber of the initial nominees for 40 Under 40. If you have someone in mind, submit their name by June 24.
