Isla Porter celebrates brand launch

NEW YORK — Isla Porter, a New York-based luxury cabinet company, celebrated their brand launch this September. The company specializes in custom cabinetry, designed and modeled with AI. Sharon Dranko and Emily Arthur, the founders of Isla Porter, thanked their team during the event for their hard work over the last three years.

The pair started exploring production in 2021, and after partnering with a manufacturer in Cambodia, left their jobs to found Isla Porter with the help of an investor. Once they knew they could design the product they imagined, they ran into the next issue: how to get it into people’s homes.

“It’s not like we designed a coffee table and you just ship it and you’re done,” Arthur said during the launch. “There are a lot of hands that go into ordering a kitchen, from a designer to a contractor. While we worked on all these beautiful designs, we improved on simplifying the designing process."

This improvement in designing came from Skipp, a Brooklyn-based AI startup they teamed up with to manage the back end of their platform.

Isla Porter and Skipp utilize AI to help with the technical pieces of kitchen design - measuring and remeasuring, determining gas & power lines, and floor plan iterations. Isla Porter's goal was to give back time to designers so they can focus on the more creative aspects of kitchen design - cabinetry style, customization options, and color. The cabinets arrive ready to install, furthering the simplicity goal.

Isla Porter works "hand in hand" with clients as they embark on the journey to realize their dream kitchen. Via the dedicated app, users initiate their design process with a scan of their space, complete a detailed questionnaire outlining preferences and requirements, and gain access to AI-optimized floor plans that are perfectly measured to 1/16 inch.

Their full line of 26 door styles, eight wood types, 60+ colors, ranges, islands, hoods, and shelves cover most kitchen needs.

Designers are supported with the help of the Isla Porter design team who have years of experience designing kitchens. Isla uses a range of North American hardwoods, with specialists working hard to grade each material and choose the best cut for specified finishes.

Wood species offered:

• American Walnut

• White Oak Plain Sawn

• White Oak Rift Sawn

• Red Oak

• Maple

• Cherry

• Alder

• Hickory

Crafted from ¾’’ solid wood and ply, the cabinets offer the stability that resists warping and cracking in high-traffic spaces. Isla also offers a range of durable finishes to match any kitchen design.

Isla Porter's commitment to personalized service is underscored by its human touch. Dedicated team members are on hand to guide designers and homeowners from the initial kitchen scan to the delivery of pre-assembled cabinetry 14 weeks later, ensuring that every detail reflects the end users' distinctive style and use case.
