A new Consumer Product Safety Commission report on furniture, TV, and appliance tip-over injuries and fatalities showed an estimated of 22,500 Americans injured annually that required hospital emergency-department (ED) treatment for tip-over injuries. Nearly 44% of whom were children under 18 years of age.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has weighed in on tip-over issues with a proposed standard. In the Federal Register today, February 3, a proposed rule for clothing storage units was published that is intended to help prevent furniture tip-overs of clothing storage units that often involve children.
