PHILADELPHIA - NextFab, a community hub and collaborative woodworking facility, keeps getting bigger.

NextFab hosts classes and programs for beginner and intermediate level woodworkers, while also serving as a creative space. Members learn hands-on skills, woodworking, 3D printing, and technology. Woodworking classes include router table basics, intro to woodburning, hand tool basics, wood lathe basics, and ShopBot basics. Members will learn everything from making a coffee table to 3D drafting.

Operating two locations in Philadelphia and one in Delaware, NextFab will move one of its Philly locations to a bigger 21,000-square-feet by the end of next year.

“We intend that with the new North Philly location, NextFab will help support and grow artisan businesses the way our South Philly location and our RAPID accelerator program has for tech startups," president Evan Malone said in a statement.

Thanks to a new RAPID accelerator program, they launched a fund of $100,000 to invest in companies. The new, expanded building will have more studio spaces and more storage.
