Awesome, solar-powered teak watch breaks Kickstarter goal

Raising $127,929 from a Kickstarter goal of $120,000, this awesome solar-powered watch is made of recycled teak floorboards.

Created by Leon Cheung, the sleek watch can be fully recharged under sunlight in less than two hours - storing up to two months worth of power. Hand-polished with allergy-free wax coating, the watch can also be fully submerged in up to 98 feet of water.

The recycled wood is supplied by WoodRite, a Hong Kong-based furniture brand known for its reclaimed furniture. Its minimalistic design bears subtle markings as a homage to its former life as floorboards.

The watch features a protective steel inner case, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass, and simple three-hand movement.

Four different dial design options are available: original, black, brown, and white. A pocket watch version is also available.
