The Container Store Offers Luxury Closets

COPPELL, TX - The Container Store has launched a line of high-end custom closet systems — TCS Closets. The pilot program debuted in seven stores in Dallas and Fort Worth, TX, and expanded nationwide this year.

TCS Closets feature a variety of woodgrain finishes, as well as lighting, glass doors and accessories to store shoes, jewelry and handbags. The average sales price for a TCS system exceeds $2,000 -- a large jump over The Container Store’s previous $60 day-to-day average transaction for a variety of items.

“TCS Closets is without a doubt the most significant merchandising initiative in our history, leveraging our core competency of high-service sales of exclusive, solutions-based products and systems,” said Kip Tindell, Chairman and CEO.

An additional initiative with a $2,000 ticket average is Contained Home (formerly ATHOME), an in-home, custom design and organization service.
“We are encouraged by the prospects of our major initiatives to help drive deeper engagement with our omni-channel customer and to increase traffic and average ticket — POP! (customer loyalty program), Contained Home and TCS Closets,” Tindell says.

Closets By Design in Four New Markets

CYPRESS, CA — Closets by Design is opening custom closet franchises in Manhattan, Houston, Vancouver and Chicago. The Cypress, CA-based franchise says it is experiencing strong growth across the country - a product of improved consumer confidence and rising consumer demand in the home improvement sector.

“The recent growth of our franchise is built not only on the increasing demand from consumers and improving economy, but is also a result of the systems in place and franchisee support offered to our partners for sustained success,” said Closets by Design President Jerry Egner in announcing the new locations. “Our team has targeted key markets for continued expansion across the country where we are committed to finding the right partners to grow our brand.”

The company currently has 44 franchise territories. Egner says the latest agreements are part of a growth plan to expand the Closets by Design franchise in 6-8 targeted territories across the United States and Western Canada.
