Cabinet sales fall in March: KCMA Trend of Business report

RESTON, Va. – Cabinet manufacturers reported overall sales of were down 4.0% for March 2025 compared to the same month in 2024, with all three segments reporting year-over-year losses, according to the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association's March Trend of Business report, revised April 30. 

The 53 responding companies in the survey reported overall sales of $210.9 million for March 2025. In the year-over-year comparison, custom sales were down 0.5% to $56.2 million, semi-custom dropped 0.5% to $124.8 million  and stock sales fell 20.9%, to $29.9 million. Respondents reported a cabinet quantity for the month of 543,691, down 14.8% compared to March 2024 figures.

For the month-over-month sales comparison, survey respondents again reported increases in two out of the three segments. Custom sales were up 9.7%, semi-custom rose 18.0%, while stock sales dropped 2.0% in March compared to February figures. Cabinet quantity increased 10.2%.

For the year-to-date, year-over-year comparison both quantity and sales were down.  Participants' sales through  March 2025 were $579.7 million, down 4.9% from 2024 figures. Custom sales dropped 2.7%, semi-custom dipped 1.8% and stock declined 17.8%. Cabinet quantity for the year also decreased, down 14.5% to 1.525 million, according to survey participants.

For the overall cabinet market, estimated sales for March were $2.0 billion and estimated sales for the year-to-date were $5.8 billion. Cabinet quantity for the overall market was 5.6 million for the month and 17.4 million January through March.

The Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA) represents kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than 40 years.
