High School woodworking instructor aligns his program to industry standards

Editor’s note: The Woodwork Career Alliance of North America issued a record 681 Sawblade Certificates to students enrolled in WCA EDUcation™ member programs during the first six months of 2022. To earn their Sawblade Certificate, students are evaluated on everything from reading a tape measure and basic layout through safely setting up and operating a table saw with successful results based on the WCA Skill Standards.

Cabinet sales remain strong

According to the KCMA's monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported an increase in overall cabinet sales of 14.6% for October 2022 compared to the same month in 2021.

Adwood Corp., a supplier of machinery, equipment, and supplies for the U.S. woodworking industry,  has launched a new e-commerce store selling edgebanding, veneers, supplies, and Jowat and Riepe consumables. United Furniture owner says he was unaware of the company’s financial troubles

  David Belford, the owner of United Furniture told the Columbus Business First journal that he had been unaware of the company’s financial troubles before the closure. "Only very recently did I learn just how dire the situation had become, how limited the company’s options were," Belford said in a statement to the business news journal.
