Cabinet sales remain strong

According to the KCMA's monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating cabinet manufacturers reported an increase in overall cabinet sales of 14.6% for October 2022 compared to the same month in 2021.

October 2022 sales increases over October 2021:

  • Overall sales up 14.6%
  • Custom sales up 20.2%​​​​​​
  • Semi-custom up 24.5%
  • Stock sales up by 6.9%
  • Estimated cabinet quantity decreased 2.6%


The month-to-month comparison was not as strong (October 2022 compared to September 2022):

  • Overall sales down 6.7%
  • Custom sales down 1.6%
  • Semi-custom down 1.3%
  • Stock sales down 11.4%
  • Estimated cabinet quantity down 8.6%

 

YTD 2022 to 2021:

  • Overall sales up 17.3%
  • Custom sales up 16.4%​​​​​​
  • Semi-custom up 16.8%
  • Stock sales up by 17.9%
  • Estimated cabinet quantity decreased 0.8%

Survey participants include stock, semi-custom and custom companies whose combined sales represent approximately 75% of the U.S. kitchen cabinet and bath vanity market. KCMA is the major trade association for kitchen cabinet and bath vanity manufacturers and key suppliers of goods and services to the industry. KCMA has been compiling and reporting industry sales data for more than forty years.
