U.S. wildfire across Utah, Colorado border kills three firefighters, injures two

The fire originally formed when multiple smaller blazes, including the Knowles and Gore fires, merged across Mesa and Grand counties. As an active complex incident, it has burned more than 28,000 acres of remote terrain and canyons just south of the Colorado River. The 28,000-acre fire along the Colorado-Utah border is now being managed under Snyder Fire.

Florida contractor arrested after cabinetry projects go unfinished

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Local contractor, Michael Trail (47) of M&M Cabinets of North Florida, Inc., has been arrested and charged with Grand Theft and Scheme to Defraud.In April 2026, the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office contacted the SJSO Property Crimes Unit with information about a grand theft and scheme to defraud case involving victims in St. Johns County.
