JASPER, IN (June 2, 2011) — Originally based on the idea of building blocks, Kimball(R) Office’s Villa(TM) lounge has rapidly expanded to offer facility managers and designers a single-source lounge seating solution. The addition of a youth line, high-back series, and multiple storage and power/data options will be on display the week of June 13, in the Kimball Office Chicago showroom, 325 N. Wells St., and available in the fall.

“The Villa line was well received after its introduction last year, and we’re excited to take it to a new level by offering unique styles and size options to help designers and facility managers meet the needs of users, including the smallest users,” said Allen Parker, Vice President of Marketing, Products, and Sales for Kimball Office. “The addition of a youth line and high-back series quickly positions Villa as a full-service seating option for healthcare and education settings.”

Youth — The Villa youth line includes benches, ottomans, and one- and two-seat options with and without arms. Youth tables include a rounded edge rectangular or square shape with wood or laminate tops. All pieces can gang together, including to full-size pieces.

“In healthcare and certain education settings, we noticed a need for seating areas for children that would blend with the style used in the full-size lounges,” said Parker. “By adding a Villa youth line, we now provide the option to create a cohesive environment where children’s areas integrate seamlessly into the overall design.”

Villa’s most notable characteristic is its ability to provide a palette to create free-form lounge configurations, of any size, ideal for open plans and lounge settings. The following additions further the collection’s ability to provide flexible and relevant solutions.

High-Back — This addition offers the opportunity to divide space into separate brainstorming, meeting, or social spaces, while maintaining the look and feel of an open plan. The privacy back is available in one-, two-, and three-seat lounges without arms or with a side screen, and one- and two-seat corner units. Screens can be upholstered separately from the seat to delineate space.
Benches — A new 45-degree crescent bench and lounge, with optional back, provides greater opportunities to design functional and creative seating arrangements that can also easily maneuver around obstacles.
Power/data — To support users’ need for power and data in lounge, casual, and open plan settings, an optional five-inch arm width is available, which includes the option to integrate grommets into one or both arms for easy power/data access. Grommets are also available on any Villa table.
Tables and Storage — New table options increase Villa’s ability to serve as a one-source lounge solution, with a variety of sizes, style, and open storage options.

Villa’s naturally crisp lines offer separation for efficient space division, and a full range of upholstery and leather options are available with the option to upholster backs, arms, and seats separately, to delineate space through color. Additional pieces include plateau tables and tablet arms.

Villa is Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) Indoor Advantage(TM) Gold and Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturer Association (BIFMA) level(R) 2 certified. Tables are certified to BIFMA level 3.
