LIGNA 2013: Wonders in Wood & Young at Art in Hall 14 / Stand G50

Hannover, Germany - Excellence in wood turning will be the focus of this year’s special Wonders in Wood showcase in Hall 14, Stand G50. The expo will be organized by Deutsche Messe in association with the Bad Kissingen State Vocational School and the Association of German Wood Turners and Wooden Toy Craftsmen (Verband des deutschen Drechsler- und Holzspielzeugmacherhandwerks e.V.).

Visitors to LIGNA 2013 can look forward to a captivating showcase featuring a raft of truly exceptional wood turning works spanning a wide range of different sizes and techniques. Throughout the fair, the students and teachers of the Bad Kissingen State Vocational School will also be providing information and advice on training and careers in wood turning. In addition to the presentation of the best works crafted by the School’s students during their three-year course of study, the exhibition will also feature a “living workshop” where visitors will be able to watch skilled wood turners go about their work.

The prize-giving ceremony for the “Young at Art” Award will be held on the first day of LIGNA – on Monday, 6 May 2013 – at 3 pm at the Wonders in Wood presentation area in Hall 14. All entries, including the award winners, will also be on show at the Wonders in Wood exhibition for the duration of the fair.

The Young at Art award was initiated by Deutsche Messe in 2010 and has as its media partner the trade journal “Exakt,” which is published by DRW-Verlag Weinbrenner. The Wonders in Wood exhibition is open to visitors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on each day of LIGNA 2013.
