The discussion will feature:
- Nick Anastas, director of 0perations at Svend Nielsen Ltd., and president of AWMAC Ontario Chapter. With 30 years of experience, Anastas will share the manufacturer's perspective on leveraging NAAWS for commercial projects.
- Derek Bonnett, senior project architect at Diamond Schmitt. With over four decades of experience, Bonnett will provide an architectural viewpoint, explaining how AWMAC and NAAWS standards ensure a smooth process from tendering to project completion.
- Johnny Farro, President of InterAll, a Toronto-based general contracting company. Farro will highlight the role these standards play in delivering high-end custom millwork and interior renovations.
The NAAWS manual set of standards that dictate material and workmanship requirements for architectural woodwork. It is a vital tool for the industry because it:
- Empowers design professionals to specify woodwork that precisely meets client needs.
- Ensures all manufacturers and installers bid on projects with a level playing field, guaranteeing equal quality of work.
- Establishes clear industry terminology and criteria for manufacturing and installation.
Developed and maintained by AWMAC and the Woodwork Institute, NAAWS provides a consistent framework for professionals across North America and beyond.
