58%: Percentage of renovating homeowners who add or update a kitchen island during their remodel, according to the 2026 U.S. Houzz Kitchen Trends Study. Those adding a new island and those upgrading an existing island are evenly split at 29% each. Of the upgraded kitchen islands, 52% exceed 7 feet in length, while 30% measure between 6 and 7 feet, and 18% are smaller than 6 feet. More than one-third (36%) of renovated kitchens don’t have an island, and 6% of homeowners kept their islands as is.
