This October, celebrate the woodworking industry

October is Woodworking Manufacturing Month during which woodworking innovation and ingenuity are celebrated.  The second annual event, created by the International Woodworking Fair (IWF) on behalf of IWF’s owners, the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association (WMIA) and Wood Machinery Manufacturers of America (WMMA), is produced and staged under the banner Innovation At Work.

AMELIA ISLAND, Fla. -- A special joint technology presentation titled “Demystifying AI, AR, VR” led off the last day of sessions at the Woodworking Industry Conference. Company closings decline in 2015 based on FDMC 300 tally

There were fewer woodworking companies that closed their doors during the past year than in any year in recent memory, if the FDMC 300 is any guide. With FDMC 300 research well underway, only five companies have been identified as closed or likely out of business. Work is continuing on the list of leading manufacturers of cabinets, furniture, millwork and store fixtures, and it is possible that one or two other companies may be identified as being closed.
