Top millwork designs named by AWI

POTOMAC FALLS, Va.  -- The Architectural Woodwork Institute has announced the 2016 winners of the Standard of Excellence awards. Each winner has been featured in the AWI official journal, Design Solutions Magazine and the awards will be presented during the 2016 AWI Annual Convention in Kansas City, Missouri on October 24. The 2016 Overall Standard of Excellence winner is Stephenson Millwork Co., Inc. located in Wilson, North Carolina, for the North Carolina State University Talley Student Union Center project.

Architectural Woodworkers Name Great Lakes Chapter of the Year 2015

SALT LAKE CITY - "AWI Chapters are an integral and vital part of the organization. Running a chapter is as difficult as running a business, and is the heart of our AWI membership,” said Scott Markwood in opening a Sept. 28 awards ceremony during the Architectural Woodworking Institute 63rd Annual Convention in Salt Lake City. Recognizing AWI chapters for their contributions to the architectural woodwork community and service locally to members, the Chapter of the Year Award goes to the top performing AWI member group.

Hollywood Woodwork Earns AWI Award for Brickell House Condo Tower

Hollywood Woodwork received the Architectural Woodwork Institute Award of Excellence for Brickell House, a luxury condominium tower, in Miami, Florida Plain sliced, random matched American black walnut, finished to give the effect of Brazilian rosewood, was used in wall paneling and custom items throughout the first floor, and quartered American black walnut with the same finish was used in the upper floor amenity areas.
